Thorsvang — Danmarks Samlermuseum

Thorsvang is one of Denmark's most distinctive cultural-history museums — a collector's museum on Møn that has grown over time out of Henrik Hjortkær's life's work as a collector. Instead of traditional display cases and catalogue numbers, the objects are presented in 18 recreated shops and workshops reflecting everyday life in the 1920s: a grocer's, a bank, a locksmith's, a tobacconist's, a tailor's, an ice-cream maker and a bakery, to name just a few. It feels like stepping into a street scene from your grandfather's day, and the museum's strength lies precisely in the fact that the objects have not been taken out of their context. The museum also has a cosy café with a lunch buffet and home-baked cakes. Thorsvang is located in the village of Sømarke east of Stege.
