Middelaldercentret

📍 Ved Hamborgskoven 2-4, 4800 Nykøbing Falster

Middelaldercentret is an experimental archaeology activity centre and cultural attraction near Nykøbing Falster, giving visitors the chance to travel back to 15th-century Denmark. Centred on the reconstructed medieval town of Sundkøbing, you can experience living history with knights' tournaments, demonstrations of medieval cannon use and the world-famous trebuchet — the world's largest preserved siege engine. Craftspeople, merchants and guides in period costume make up the town's population, and guests can try their own hand at medieval activities. The centre is run as a self-governing institution and combines public outreach with genuine research into medieval technology and daily life. The season typically runs from May to September, and a ticket is valid for a full week.
