Stavreby
📍 Stavreby Strandvej, 4720 Præstø
Free
Stavreby is a small, idyllic village on the Jungshoved peninsula facing Præstø Fjord. The village offers a charming rural atmosphere, and a walk through its streets gives a sense of the quiet life by the fjord. Just south of the village lies Stavreby Bådehavn — described by many as Denmark's cosiest and smallest fishing harbour, where a few active commercial fishermen still remain. The harbour is home to the amateur fishing association Bøgestrømmen/Præstø Fjord and provides the setting for recurring events such as the annual garfish competition on Ascension Day and Havnens Dag, when people from near and far flock to the small harbour to sample fresh fish. Stavreby is situated in the middle of the protected fjord landscape around Jungshoved and is an ideal stop on a trip around the peninsula, whether by bicycle, on foot or by car.
