Reventlow-Museet Pederstrup
📍 Pederstrupvej 124, 4943 Torrig L, Danmark
The Reventlow Museum Pederstrup tells the story of one of the key figures behind the Danish agrarian reforms: Count Christian Ditlev Frederik Reventlow (1748–1827), who as landowner and statesman was a driving force behind the abolition of the "stavnsbånd" (adscription) and the introduction of tenant farmers' freedoms in the 1780s. The museum opened in 1940 in the historic main building at Pederstrup, where Reventlow lived from 1813 until his death in 1827, and is today part of Museum Lolland-Falster. The exhibition presents Reventlow's political work through portraits, furniture and personal items from the period, offering a glimpse into aristocratic family life around 1800. The building is surrounded by Reventlow Park — a beautifully landscaped garden with free year-round access, historic monuments and pleasant garden pavilions.
