Næstved Museum
📍 Ringstedgade 4, 4700 Næstved
Næstved Museum is housed in Helligåndshuset — a building with medieval roots and the only preserved house of the Holy Spirit in Denmark. The building has served over time as a hospital, nursing home and poorhouse, before being converted into a museum in 1927. The exhibitions tell the history of Næstved and the surrounding area from the earliest hunters and farmers, through the Viking Age raids from Vester Egesborg and the vibrant Middle Ages, to industrialisation, including the well-known ceramics company Kähler. The museum also hosts changing special exhibitions and is operated by Museum Sydøstdanmark.
