Møns Museum (Empiregården)

📍 Storegade 75, 4780 Stege

Møns Museum is housed in Empiregården — one of Stege's most notable old merchant farms, centrally located in the town close to the medieval Mølleport. The building was constructed as a four-winged merchant farm in the late 18th century and was in the hands of merchants and traders until 1922. Empiregården has served as a museum since 1958. The exhibitions tell the cultural history of Møn from ancient times to the present through a series of stories about the island, its people and its trade, and the museum also holds a geological collection and changing special exhibitions. With an admission ticket to the museum, visitors also gain access to Mølleporten, one of Denmark's best-preserved remnants of a medieval town fortification. The museum is operated by Museum Sydøstdanmark. Please note that Empiregården is an old, listed building on several floors and is therefore not accessible to wheelchairs or prams.
