Marielyst Strand

Marielyst Beach on Falster's east coast is one of Denmark's most popular bathing beaches and has been voted Denmark's best beach several times in Berlingske Rejseliv's reader poll — most recently in 2025. The wide, white sandy beach stretches for kilometres and, with its shallow, calm water and fine sandy bottom, is particularly well suited to families with children. At Torvet at the end of the beach road there is a bathing pier and lifeguard service during the summer season, and behind the beach a walking and cycling path runs along the top of the dunes. For more peace and quiet, you can head to the sides towards Sildestrup or Gedesby. A row of restaurants, shops and activities lines the beach.
