Kultursalonerne Gisselfeld is an annual festival held in the castle park and historic surroundings of Gisselfeld Kloster in South Zealand. The festival is described as a slow festival, where music is blended with literature, conversations and culinary experiences, held in the second weekend of August over three days, Thursday to Saturday. The setting is the monastery's atmospheric castle park, considered among Northern Europe's most beautiful park complexes with old trees, lakes and rich birdlife. A distinctive feature is that you don't know the full programme in advance when you arrive — throughout the festival, organisers offer small intimate concerts, readings, guided tours and other experiences both at the castle and around the park. The programme emphasises immersion and presence rather than large stages. Food and drink can be purchased throughout, and the festival strives to make room for local practitioners. Tickets can be bought for one, two or three days, with overnight camping and a guided castle tour available as add-ons. It is recommended to buy tickets in advance and check current dates on the festival's website before visiting.
